The return of the prodigal DJ

Hi folks, it's been a slow month. We know. But we've come back with a treat: the return of our favorite DJ, Gil D Beat. He sent us a blazing disco mix, oh, more than a month ago and we've been delinquent on loading it up. But here it is in its full glory for your enjoyment:

You're My Cosmic DJ

Our boy Gil-D-Beat has unveiled his newest set of skillz: dope ass remixes. He's throwing it back this time with Jamiroquai.

You can't believe how many good pictures there are of Jamiroquai on the intertubes, but I had to choose one from the infamous "Virtual Insanity" video. However, Gil's remix is of "Cosmic Girl." I'm really digging on the keyboard interlude. You should too.

San Luis Pleasing Me

There must be something in the water in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. We have our annointed disco king, Gil-D-Beat, hailing from there as well as the newly found Sunset Hunters.

Gil tipped us off to this duo. Their SoundCloud page opens with a smooth and sexy dub/house mix called "She Wants Marihuana." She may want marijuana, but we want more.

And, here's a bonus mixtape, from none other than Gil-D-Beat de nuevo.

Lost and FoundCloud

Well, we have been delinquent. While hard working artists go and make magic, we ignore them. A lot. That's about to change. We're finally checking our post-Christmas list, and checking it twice. When I say list, I mean e-mail and SoundCloud. We do, in fact, read our e-mail. Occasionally. We'll let the results of our inbox hunt speak for themselves.

It's Time for the Perculator

Actually, it's time for us to showcase our favorite perennial DJ Gil-D-Beat. Gil dropped a new disco mix about a week ago and we have been shamefully slow about loading it up. But, everything is for a reason. We recently discovered an 70s-era Detroit dance show that complements Gil's newest mix to a T.

Here's the mix.

Here's the moves.

We suggest muting the YouTube video and jamming along to Gil's time-to-dance.

And the Hits Continue...

When we first tweeted about our friend Gil-D-Beat we called him a "disco mixtape king." And now he's proven us right. He's bequeathed a very special disco mixtape to us, and all you other EBs out there. Please feel special. Royal, even.

With this mix, we hereby declare ourselves your loyal disco subjects. We bow down to you, Gil.

Black Friday Blow Up: Meet Gil-D-Beat

Looks like EB is blowing up, y'all. We received a killer disco mixtape from one Gil-De-Beat a couple of days ago and we def thought his efforts were worth blowing up as well.

We don't know much about Gil-D-Beat, but we do know this: his real name is Jorge Gil de Partearroyo and he hails from San Luis Potosi, Mexico. We like Mexico, and we like his mixtape.

We hope you do too.
