Introducing: Plastic Plates

Normally I'd be against plastic plates. You know, the kind you use for outdoor barbecues or tacky work parties. ('Cause I'm all environmental and shit.) In this case, I am for Plastic Plates. So for them. When it comes to music.

Plastic Plates is the pseudonym of an LA-based Aussie that makes incredible remixes and mixtapes. The tune that caught my ear initially was Body Language - Social Studies (Plastic Plates Remix), but after scouring Plates' SoundCloud I am thoroughly hooked on all his goodies.

Check it.

LYKKE LI - LOVE OUT OF LUST

This is what my missus says:

"Hello fellow Indigo. Someone said it is always better to give than to receive so since it's Friday (I'm in love dududududuruuuu)....... here you go. Love Out Of Lust" - one of my personal favourites from the album. We're running out of time so have some wine and be proud of who you are! xx LL"

If it's your favorite, it's my favorite too. You see how much we have in common? It's so funny, this thing called love.

You're My Cosmic DJ

Our boy Gil-D-Beat has unveiled his newest set of skillz: dope ass remixes. He's throwing it back this time with Jamiroquai.

You can't believe how many good pictures there are of Jamiroquai on the intertubes, but I had to choose one from the infamous "Virtual Insanity" video. However, Gil's remix is of "Cosmic Girl." I'm really digging on the keyboard interlude. You should too.

Hungover.

There are just some days when you prefer to listen to something that will not make your head explode. Those are the days when you are hungover. Really hungover.

Retro Wednesday Remix

James Brown is sampled on this track. So this makes it retro, right? Right? He's the godfather of soul. And also, incidentally, perhaps, the father of Janelle Monae. You tell 'em, La Roux.

Discokaine's Fireworks are Bigger than Katy Perry's

Hiya, Discokaine. Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

My mother says that my haircut looks like shit and i should not drink coca cola after 5pm because than i cant sleep.....i'm 25years old though!!

Oh yeah? What else?

my "MS Word"programm just tells me with those underlined red words that my english sucks big time and furthermore my german in interviews is even worse.

OK, well thank god your mixes are better than your interviews.*

*This interview is excerpted from Discokaine's myspace. We in no way talked to him and in no way own his eloquent, eloquent words.

Mixtape Explosion!

From our favorite, The Magician. You'll be pleasantly surprised by its 80s vibe. Definitely got me through a long, dreary day at the office.

One Day Early

I just couldn't resist putting this song up for "Retro Wednesday" one day early. How about "Take It Back Tuesdays"? No? Too long? Too bad. It's happening.
