Trajectory of an Affair

This is a mixtape public service announcement.

This isn't about drugs. It's about emotions.

This is what an affair is like:
You're so hot. Let's get down and dirty. Oh what? You're married? Snap, girl. Let's still get down and dirty. Isn't this amazing? Illicit, hot sex. Oh what? This is wrong. Yeah, yeah it is. But we should keep wanting/hurting each other. Now we should stop. Damn that sucks. I miss you? No, I miss the sex. Well, I miss you. Now I miss you some more. Now I'm feeling better. Now I'm over it. Let's dance.

This is what it's like in song format:

You see? Affairs are all fun and games. Until they're not. So, yeah. Don't have an affair.

Begging Me, Begging You

We have a thing for Florrie. I've said it before, but I'll say it again: there's just something so hot about a girl who plays drums guitars. They are good with their hands or something.

Also, Florrie makes fun music. It's like a girlier/less sassier version of Robyn. And who doesn't love Robyn.

Look. The Look. And More.

There was one day last week where I listened to Metronomy's "The Look" approximately 20 times. I may be over exaggerating. But, I am not exaggerating when I say that the song is good. It. will. get. stuck. in. your. head.

So do that.

I also suggest you do this.

Metronomy - The Bay (Erol Alkan's Extended Rework)

Life Jam

Yes, right now. It's all about:

I just don’t have the patience,
Where did it go?
I just don’t have the patience,
Where did it go?

You know I like how you make me feel
You know I like how you make me feel
Don’t wanna end up on my own,
No, no!

Hit me with that Big Gold Belt

Do you know how many kinky post titles I just tried? At least three. They all dealt with some mention of a Big Gold Belt on my bum. I promise I'm not into that. Usually.

I am, however, into this.

Commando by BigGoldBelt

It reminds me of a grittier, sexier version of Sleigh Bells. Basically the only qualm I have with it is that I wish it were longer.

If you want to know more about Big Gold Belt, check out their awesome bio:

Songs like “Wait” and “Ice Cream” sound like early Madonna – not in the lame way that lazy rock critics mistakenly think Lady Gaga sounds like early Madonna, but in the fucked-up way that Sonic Youth’s forgotten “Ciccone Youth” masterpiece sounds like early Madonna. Only Xstina’s got better legs.
And also check out their awesome songs.

Going Bananas for Lovefoxxx

It's official. I post anything related to Lovefoxxx. Can you blame me?

Though this song mostly just reminds me of:

Out of the Loop

Well, I had no idea.

According to HarderBloggerFaster, "after accumulating 18,000 facebook likes and 2 million views, the mega mystery band secret comes to an end today, with the man behind the whirlwind song ‘On A Train’ finally unveiled as French super producer Yuksek."

Apparently I'm not hip enough to know of this so-called Mega Mystery Band. What I do know is that Yuksek made a pretty dope track. And I want to hear more.

Que viene el verano!

According to some lovely Spanish-language music, summer is around the corner.

Exhibit A.

Exhibit B.

JOHN TALABOT / Families (Ft Glasser) by Young Turks

Look/listen/feel. Come to me, sunshine.

West Coast Boast

Being the lone western dweller, I have to keep it real with shit coming out of CA. I do love me some Alexander Spit and you should seriously consider his, Until Next Summer, an anthem for long, drawn out summer days, spent in the sun and with friends causing a little trouble and raising even more hell.

Tracks you should wear on your sleeve all summer long: Our Time, Hella, Ashes, and We On. Beautiful or Bust and Frisco What Up are also great. Oh Hell, the whole thing is straight swag.

Retro Wednesday Remix

Let's call it a HEATWAVE! We definitely would welcome one here on the East Coast. Let's make spring happen, people.

Chiddy Bang - Heatwave (ft. Mac Miller)

Mixtape.

Another awkward mixtape for a specific purpose. Given the worst picture ever taken.

Mixtape Title: (My kind of) Songs to turn a breezy Saturday afternoon into a boozy Saturday night.

Track List.

Marathon - Tennis
Bloodbuzz Ohio - The National
D.A.N.C.E. (Justice Cover) - Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly.
Love out of Lust - Lykke Li
There's Nothing In The Water We Can't Fight - Cloud Control
Shove It - Santogold
Pursuit of Happyness - Kid Cudi
Gifted - N.A.S.A featuring Kanye West, Santogold and Lykke Li
Yes, I'm Stalking You - Dante vs Zombies
You Make My Dreams - Hall and Oates

And no, I'm not embarrassed that my ultimate boozy Saturday night song is You Make My Dreams come true by Hall and Oates. That song is gold.
